A Letter to Chloe

My Dearest Chloe

Since you have been gone Sarah and I have been taking an early morning walk.
I take in the quiet and the calm to settle my nerves for the day ahead.
Sarah, she uses it to look for worms to eat if you can believe that!

This morning Sarah came across a hole in the driveway which really looked to be that of a snake or a rat and to which she appeared to be rather interested in.

It reminded me of the time you decided to stick your nose in the only hole that could be found at the abandoned silos on the farm!

A quick nip to your nose by a shell shocked meerkat was all that was needed to get you in the mood for a chase.

As you would have witnessed many times over the past 15 years, surprises are not my strong suit and I quickly went into stress and panic mode after seeing the big gash on the top of your nose.

But you manoeuvred it like a champ and you were probably down right annoyed by me dragging you home to have it cleansed.

You had that scar on your nose till the very last day.

A vivid reminder of your youthful spirit and the adventurous nature you carried with you till your last days.

Till we meet again I will forever love you.
